Our October MIX Next show was amazing! Pandemic anxiety and untamed quarantine hairdos did not keep us from curating and showing off some of the best indie games coming out in late 2020 and early 2021. With MIX host Justin Woodward and guest Katie Williams, we spent a day featuring some of the best indie games for folks to be on the lookout for.
The full show is posted here for folks who missed it!
We were honored to share game trailers and developer commentary. Indie publishers tinyBuild, Modern Wolf, and wholesome game purveyor Whitethorn Digital had marked contributions to the show – check out the full list of featured games on the MIX Next page.
The MIX demoed live gameplay footage of Pumpkin Jack, Radical Relocation, Doors of Insanity, Button City, Gone Viral, Cloud Gardens, and Axiom Verge 2, while their respective developers walked us through the games and discussed their game design goals and challenges.
Several guests also joined us to share their thoughts on the future of indie gaming, including Twitch’s Mary Kish and game developers Swery, Nick Suttner, and Shawn Alexander Allen. Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller also returned, his second time hanging with the MIX since hosting our epic three-day Guerrilla Collective event back in June.
IGN, Gamespot, Twitch’s TwitchGaming channel and Steam posted The MIX Next on their home pages and co-streamed the entire show in addition to our own stream on the MIX’s Twitch channel.
Steam also posted an excellent event page for MIX Next where gamers could check out demos, wishlist, pre-purchase, and purchase games from the showcase.
We are so thrilled to have been able to introduce these games to a variety of gamers and industry professionals across the globe.
The MIX Next would not have been possible without our silver sponsors, Humble Games, Modern Wolf, and tinyBuild, as well as supporting sponsors Akupara Games, Another Indie, Astro, Goblinz, Graffiti Games, Headup, Kickstarter, Razer, Super!, Those Awesome Guys, and Whitethorn Games.
Be sure to keep an eye on our social media feeds and sign up for the newsletter to learn what’s in store next for The MIX!.
