Quite a year! A visit to Hamill’s House to uncover the secrets of Thunderful World, a Game Awards pre-show stream, showcases with many amazing developers and games throughout the year, and millions of views!
As the new year gets started, here are highlights from the past year, starting with showcases from just before the break.
MIX Next
Justin Woodward and guest co-host Candace McKenney presented the second annual MIX Next Fall showcase on Nov 13 which shared new gameplay, trailers and announcements for what’s coming up next in gaming!
With over 90 games, the showcase included fresh new gameplay, announcements, spotlights on new game releases, a tasty snack from friends at Wholesome Direct, new game release highlights and much much more! For any who may have missed it, the full showcase can be viewed here!
MIX Picks
As part of our year end wrap up, we partnered with Twitch to join the Winter Gathering with a pre Game Awards lead in showcase.
Samurai Gunn 2 and Innersloth shared news of a cool new team up for the first time in the MIX Picks Showcase, we presented several first time new game announcements, and Grandma No! (if you didn’t see this, you gotta watch to see what that’s referring too … words wouldn’t suffice!)
Black Voices in Gaming
2021 wrapped up with the eighth Black Voices in Gaming showcase since the series started last summer. Recent Black Voices in Gaming guest and the Aerial Knight himself Neil Jones guest hosted this showcase, along with first time contributor REDinFamy.

Along with our own showcases, we work with partners from time to time on custom productions. Huge highlight: this year’s Thunderful World hosted by iconic legend Mark Hamill! 2022 is looking to even better! The MIX is celebrating 10 years since the very first showcase at IGN’s 2nd Street office during GDC! We’ll have much fun with this milestone starting very soon.
