Highlights from The MIX Seattle (PAX) 2018

The MIX and Raw Fury teamed up to present The MIX Seattle 2018 during the week of PAX West at the Showbox near Pike’s Market. This event was the biggest and one of the best MIX events to date!

We had fifty-six amazing games, from noir mystery to racing, horror to retro revivals, and beyond – the event was packed with a broad variety of crafty and creative indie games.

Best of The MIX

Alessandro Fillari from GameSpot, Ben Pack from Giant Bomb and indie biz ace Dan Adelman served as judge’s for the event.

They selected two standout games as their Best of The MIX picks – World of Horror from Panstasz and Unfold Darq from Unfold Games.

Guests submitted ballots throughout the event as well.

Judge’s Top Pick:

World of Horror

World of Horror is an unsettling cosmic horror retro RPG that pays homage to the works of Junji Ito and H.P. Lovecraft.  It’s a hellish, roguelite with turn-based combat and unforgiving choices, complimented by a haunting chiptune score and a 1-bit art style.

Judge’s Runner Up:

Darq

DARQ tells the story of Lloyd, a boy who becomes aware of the fact that he is dreaming. To Lloyd’s misfortune, the dream quickly turns into a nightmare and all attempts to wake up end in failure.

Guest’s Top Pick:

The Missing

The Missing is a story about agony and resurrection set on a mysterious island, from acclaimed game designer Swery’s White Owls studio.

Guest’s Runner Up:

The Gardens Between

Best friends Arina and Frendt embark on an emotional journey that examines the significance of their friendship: the memories they’ve built, what must be let go, and what should never be left behind.

Much love to all of the winners!

More at The MIX

This year we have stepped things up by having more performances, interaction with the developers and the gaming culture in general. The MIX Seattle was no exception. We worked with the talented DJ Rob Nice who rocked the 1s and 2s with a dope set during the evening. We got the crowd involved by working with our partners to include giveaways during the night which included a Nintendo Switch from Raw Fury, Astro Headsets, PlayStation and Xbox games as well as Steam keys from the developers and Swag from Amazon and Robot Cache.

We had many journalists, streamers and others from the industry come throughout the day, including folks from IGN, GameSpot, Giant Bomb, US Gamer, PC GamesN, ShackNews, TechRaptor, Tom’s Guide, Nintendo Wire, Operation Rainfall, Big Shiny Robot, Northern Lion, Xbox, Nintendo, Humble Bundle, Kickstarter, UBM / Game Developer’s Conference, Fangamer, Raw Fury, Tripwire, No More Robots and more!

Thanks to excellent sponsors who help make the events possible!
